These meetings are a networking opportunity for members and prospective members of LASER Alliance who are committed to helping people learn how to make responsible decisions about safety and risk. Our members range from individuals to large organisations across the UK, but the underlying ethos is to promote learning about safety by experiencing risk.

If you would like to attend a meeting please contact the relevant host in the first instance (at least one week before the meeting). Feel free to choose the meeting located closest to you or one where the theme/speaker is of particular interest.

Using its bilingual education centre, DangerPoint equips children, young and vulnerable people with life skills and knowledge to stay safe through stimulating and interactive projects. These include road safety for schoolchildren and young drivers, a Firesafe scheme aimed at 12 to 17 year olds at risk of starting or playing with fire, and water safety awareness using a model village that floods. Children also use a house, railway carriage, beach and virtual world during important lessons by specially trained rangers.

Cassius Francis, LASER Alliance co-ordinator and RoSPA’s youth liaison worker, who is presented DangerPoint with the accreditation, said: "I am really pleased that DangerPoint has seen the value of wanting to gain LASER accreditation.

"The accreditation shows that DangerPoint has a commitment to educational excellence and quality."

Julie Evans, DangerPoint centre manager said, "We are delighted to be the first permanent safety centre to receive this new accreditation. DangerPoint will be seven years old next week, and has educated over 44,000 visitors during this period.

"This recognition is a welcome endorsement of the work we deliver and the centre as a whole is very proud to have received this."
